Tradie Ute Challenge Draft Rules...

Draft 1 of the rules was shared with approx 8 people and I got some terrific feedback.

Draft 2 is now on the Track Attack website - see link below

Please use this forum to throw ideas around, and all comments will be noted.

It is however advised that any serious requests and reasons be emailed to - nothing like putting "pen to paper".

Very important - I would also like to know via email who is already building a Ute or is confident that they will be on the grid for the first round, as we are 99% go. I received 34 expressions of interest in this series, so it's time to get serious.

The calendar for season 2016 is being set over the next 2 weeks and all or all but one round will be held at QR for the first season and because of grid space and not knowing numbers of Utes competing, the first series will be 5 or 6 rounds. The first round will either be late April or first week of May and we do have the option to join another category next year until the numbers grow.

You will note that there is 2 control items in the rules. Tyre's and brake pads. Whilst testing and prices are yet to be finalized I can assure everyone that affordability is one of the primary goals, but they will be a semi slick and pad performance will also be very important.

Remember one of the goals of this class is to have good tyres, suspension, control cost on pads, and to learn about setting up your race car, with camber, castor, bump and rebound being adjustable but with cost kept down and no big spending on engines.

I hope this is reflected in the rules that you will see on the following link.

I will be at Bathurst all of next week, so response may not be immediate, but please call or email with any questions.

Brett Peters.
